Families may submit an application on-line at or by completing a paper application and returning it to the Department of FNS (in-person or by mail) or to any school site listed below. Families must have a new application on file to qualify for free and reduced-price meals each new school year. Children who qualify for free or reduced meals will receive meals at no-cost. Pending an updated joint announcement from the Sacramento County Office of Education and Department of Public Health, families will be notified of meal service adjustments once campuses reopen.Īdditionally, the Back-to-School Curb-Side Meal Service also requires the Department of Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) to account for a child’s meal based on their eligibility status in the Free and Reduced-price Meal Program. Children not enrolled in school will not be eligible for meals. Due to federal requirements, meals will only be available to school-aged children, enrolled at an EGUSD school. Families will then receive a validation form that lists all children eligible for meals through the curb-side meal program that may be used for all future meal pick-ups once the student(s) is validated. Acceptable forms of proof of enrollment include a student identification card or number, report card, class schedule, parent vue student information and/or enrollment documents. ![]() Proof of enrollment must include the student(s) name and/or student ID(s). ![]() However, families must provide proof of the child’s enrollment during the initial meal pick-up. Students do not need to be present for families to pick-up meals. SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Arturo Pacheco, a correctional officer from Elk Grove, was upset while escorting a prison inmate, so he yanked the inmate's feet from under him, sending him crashing to the ground and ultimately killing him.
